2018–23 — Stateless Mind Festivals (Copenhagen & Venice)
Performance art by Noel de Leon, Venice, 2022
Introduction
The Stateless Mind Pavilion, founded by Malaysian–Danish artist Amir Zainorin, is a mobile platform for diaspora and displaced voices in contemporary art. Emerging from the Stateless Mind Festivals (Copenhagen & Venice, 2018–2023), the Pavilion has grown into a transnational hub for dialogue, performance, and artistic exchange. Rooted in themes of migration, identity, and belonging, it challenges cultural boundaries while amplifying perspectives often left at the margins. By weaving together festivals, residencies, and collaborative projects, the Stateless Mind Pavilion continues to expand as a living space where art becomes both gathering and resistance.
From Festival to Transnational Hub (2018–23)
The Pavilion’s journey began with a series of Stateless Mind Festivals in Copenhagen and later Venice. These gatherings brought together artists and communities through performance, installation, and conversation, creating a platform for voices shaped by displacement and diaspora. What started as experimental festivals has since evolved into a mobile, borderless pavilion — a space that shifts, adapts, and travels across geographies, embodying the idea of a pavilion without walls.
Today, the Stateless Mind Pavilion functions as both memory and movement: a hub where exchange, dialogue, and imagination continue to unfold across cultures and contexts.
