Echoes in the Caves: Kinta Valley, Perak

Join us on a journey into the mystical caves of the Kinta Valley in Perak, Malaysia, together with indigenous photographer Ronnie Bahari.

In this video, we explore ancient cave sites that hold charcoal and red-paint drawings, created hundreds — perhaps thousands — of years ago. Many of these caves remain hidden from both the public and the authorities, making them rare cultural archives.

These fragile markings are more than remnants of the past; they are echoes of human presence, storytelling, and survival. By uncovering these little-known sites, we reflect on how memory, landscape, and identity endure across generations.
